Hosted by Havas Education, the awards recognise excellence and innovation in education marketing.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"lede-image\">\n<p><figure style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"attachment-single-main wp-post-image\" src=\"https:\/\/d1pe6f90ru47yo.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/27121804\/800px-Manchester_Town_Hall_from_Lloyd_St-1-800x375.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"375\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">The awards ceremony was held in Manchester. Photo: Mark Andrew\/Wikimedia Commons<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/figure>\n<p>One of the categories in particular celebrates activities aimed at raising an institution\u2019s profile abroad, for example through research collaboration or partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>Named Best International Activity, the category this year crowned the University of Central Lancashire for welcoming 700 students and staff from St Marteen after the island was devastated by Hurricane Irma last year.<\/p>\n<p>In second position on the podium was agency Higher Education Academy, now known as Advance Higher Education after a merger.<\/p>\n<p>They were recognised for their Global Teaching Excellence Award which was created in 2017 to celebrate institutional commitment to pursue teaching and learning excellence in higher education.<\/p>\n<p>The award was created, promoted and launched over a period of 16 weeks, Ewan Fairweather, senior marketing director of advanced higher education told\u00a0<em>The PIE News<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith a humble budget, it generated interest in 47 countries and applications from institutions in all continents,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fairweather also added that entering industry awards serves as a model to inspire marketing teams to always strive to perfection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a rigour to a good award entry that mirrors the rigour of a good campaign and we really should approach all campaigns as if we\u2019re intending to win an award.
